Thompson Street Farm LLC is a small family farm on 1.3 acres in South Glastonbury Connecticut. Our vegetables are grown in 20 raised beds and leased farm land totaling a little more than a 1/4 acre. In addition, we also have specially designed green houses for our micro greens and are used during the growing season. We use no chemicals and/or pesticides and follow the growing guidelines for organic growers. We are a Pledge Farm through CT-NOFA.
We have a small flock of Rhode Island Red hens and sell eggs and their compost in a "tea" kit. Our chickens are hormone and antibiotic free and are raised humanely. They eat an exceptional diet of organic chicken feed, vegetables from our garden and kitchen scraps and any other insects, bugs and vegetation they can find as they wander around.
In addition to our vegetables, we have a hand crafted soap line, organic lavender sugar scrub, and small hand made gifts. All are available at our website online store and at the listed locations on our home page.
Our products are hand made from natural fibers, dried lavender, roses, lilac and other herbs and herbal extracts. Most of the raw ingredients are grown on our farm, purchased from our neighbors or acquired from other suppliers here in the state. We try our best to keep our commitment to the meaning local means “local”.
We no longer have a physical farm stand but have a "virtual" farm stand. We accept email or phone orders 7 days a week. Orders will be filled at customers request and placed in a cooler prior to pick up time. We also sell some selected produce, soaps and gifts through CT Farm Fresh Express a home delivery service. Check out their website www.ctffe.com for what's available.
Many of our products are sold in stores in the Greater Hartford area. In addition, during the growing season we also have booths at the Manchester Community College Farmers Market, and at the Central Connecticut Co-op Farmers Market. So come check us out!
